CILICIA. Tarsus. Caracalla, 198-217. Hexassarion (Bronze, 34 mm, 23.68 g, 12 h), circa 214/5-217. AYT KAI M AYP•CЄYHPOC ANTΩNЄINO[C] / Π - Π Bust of Caracalla to right, wearing crown and garment of the demiourgos. Rev. ΑΝΤΩΝΙΑΝΗC CЄΥΗ ΑΔΡ ΜΗΤ / ΤΑΡCΟΥ / Α / Μ Κ - Γ / Β Caracalla standing front, head to left, sacrificing over lit altar to left with his right hand. SNG Levante 1058 var. (differing reverse legend). SNG Paris 1527-8 var. (differing reverse legend). Attractive earthen deposits on a black patina. Very fine.
